There is a lot of work that goes into the moving process. Even if you are moving down the street from where you live, there are all sorts of things that you need to prepare for ahead of time. A lot of what you need to know as a soon to be expatriate depends on what country you are leaving and which country you are planning to move to. There are laws in every country that dictate how you can live and work there. For example, Japan is very strict on who lives in their country. This is largely because of over population reasons. Most times, you can't move to Japan unless you have a special work visa that is given only to select individuals. Usually, this is only given to people who transfer to Japan to teach Japanese people English. This only lasts for a short period, though, which is usually one year. If you want to move to a country and live there with the intention of becoming a citizen, some countries don't allow this either. Japan is one of them for the reasons stated above. Another country that doesn't like to give citizenship is England. If you read expat relocation information closely, you'll realize that they realize reward this kind of thing. It is usually very special circumstances for England to reward citizenship to expatriates.

Since every country is different with their rules, it's very important to find expat relocation information for the countries that you are leaving and moving to.
