Moving Company Services
from:A good company that offers moving company services is worth their weight in gold, as they are not tied down to one type of moving service alone. They move offices, pianos, businesses, studios, apartments, and full homes in the most safest and efficient manner.
Those same moving company services can move local, interstate, international, and relocation services. They also offer a multitude of services instead of just a few: secure storage, complete packing and unpacking services, restoration, and some offer transitional services for individuals who are downsizing or are elderly enough to leave their home into something smaller.
When getting bids and estimates from moving company services, confirm at the origin home and the new location for an elevator, loading dock, and parking space for the trucks involved with the move. Have the area cleared before the trucks show up at either place, allowing them easy parking and walking to load the truck. Parking permits need to be arranged at the destination location, and personal items need to be placed in the personal vehicle—checkbook, keys, passport, plane or ship tickets, cash, credit cards, and any prescription medication with a copy of the doctor’s or pharmacist’s orders for the medicine if traveling overseas.
Before choosing a moving company, decide which goods will be shipped and what will be donated or given away. And does the owner of the home want to pack, or will the moving company services do it? If the company will do it, additional charges will be added to the estimate with the company’s representative coming to the home or unfortunately doing it over the phone. Any move that is less than 50 miles away are charged by the hour, while long distance moves are based on 100-pound weights.
When getting an estimate from moving company services, ask the representative how long the estimate will be good for, and find out if the bid is a binding or non-binding one. If possible, do not accept the bid over the phone, and preferably do not accept a company that offers it. Once a couple of companies are accepted to receive bids, check out their reliability with the Better Business Bureau.
Options vary when choosing moving company services—full service, self-service, or truck rental options. Self-service is when the moving trailer is brought to the home and is packed by those who are moving. When the packing is done, the trucking company picks up the trailer and takes it to the new home, and then leaves it until it is unpacked. Costing a lot less and with less hassle, this may be a good choice for some for moving company services. Advantages for such a unique service are control over possessions for packing and handling, damages will be ones own fault instead of the movers. And someone else will be in charge of the driving, so that part of the trip will be easy on the nerves and relaxing.
